UAD NEVE 88RS VST TEST
UAD-NEVE 88RS
Here are two clips testing out the new Neve 88RS VST from UAD.
How this works:
1) Download the audio files.
They are big so it may take awhile. They 16bit 44.1kHz wave files. The NEVE 88RS was applied in Wavelab. The original files were recorded at 24bit 96kHz. I normalized both tracks to -3dBfs. I used the UV22HR dither to dither the bit rate down, and used Wavelab to down sample. No other effects were used.
2) Before you listen, download the text files.
These files explain what the parameters of the NEVE 88RS were set too. Just to be clear I wasn’t after any particular sound, I was just playing more or less.
3) Listen to tracks and follow along in the text file.
4) Let me know your opinions!

Tom Lehar
Tom Lehar is an accomplished singer songwriter, now based out of Prince Rupert.
Tom's style is vast and intricate; it was great fun work with him on these masters.
This is a quick master sample of Tom's new album. There are two small clips. Each clip is played twice, the first is un-mastered, the second is the mastered version.

This a quick demo of koLa Collective Debut CD. The tracks were recorded by Jesse Waldman in Vancouver.
Steller mixed and mastered the songs. koLa requested a very open and natural sound for their mixes.
It is a very nice change from the typical over-compressed mixes that are so often heard these days.
These Guys are fantastic live; it was real pleasure to work with them on their project.

This song along with 12 others was recorded live in Bob Michael's basement. Each song was recorded in pretty much one take. We later overdubbed the main vocal, and added some harmony vocals. This is actually part of a sound track for a short film. It was recorded with an ADAT setup. If you listen closely you will hear a variety of sound samples, some of which were recorded with our mobile unit. In the end the album worked fairly well, it provided a dark mood for a very dark picture. Joe Rizk
This amazing song was recorded in one night, with Joe playing all the parts in one take each. The rich vocals were all done by Joe, in three passes! The ADAT setup was used for this recording, while it was set up in my tiny apartment in Burnaby. This song was recorded on Tascam analog 24 Track Reel to Reel Deck. It was recorded at Burning Sound in Vancouver (cburner@home.com). This band has gone on to develop quite a following in Vancouver and surrounding area. They changed their name; it's now The Doers.

This song was recorded on Tascam analog 24 Track Reel to Reel Deck. It was recorded at Burning Sound in Vancouver (cburner@home.com). This was a jam session they had at Burning Sound, the mix has a few added effects to spice things up a little.

This song is just an excuse to play with a synth. Actually the only synth used here is the window media synth, which used to be the Roland SC/7 Sounds.
I whipped this up one night, a few years ago. I overdubbed a few heavily effected guitars,
but it is hard to tell what is a synth and what is a guitar. I used HammerHead for all the drums, its great freeware. If you would like to hear the whole song contact me at Steller Studios.
